As football parlance has it, they'll be "sticking that on the changing room wall". I suppose they'll have to translate it into French first though.
I'm sure that every time it seems to work there's another when it doesn't (the exception being Brian Moore's wind-ups of the French in the '90s - bullseye every time).
I seem to remember similar remarks being uttered over a decade ago about another big guy, who went on to become a legend. OK, he was half a foot taller than Bastareud, and a couple of stone heavier - but he ran in a straight line and, size aside, had few outstanding skills. Wales were right to question his fitness, but an unfit Bastareud would walk into any six-nations side - and imagine what he will be like if he drops a stone, and stays away from nightclubs for a while?
He seems as troubled as Gavin Henson and as talented. Hope he makes it.
